Employer discretions
Discretionary powers allow employers to choose how, or if, they apply certain provisions. This page provides guidance on the discretions an employer can exercise in relation to the LGPS.
What are employer discretions?
The LGPS Regulations require every employer to:
- publish a written policy statement on how it will exercise the discretions provided by the Scheme
- keep it under review
- revise it as necessary.
